Internationally acclaimed songwriter Ron Sexsmith announces special 60th Birthday UK Shows
After sixty years around the sun, Ron Sexsmith the three time Juno award winning and internationally acclaimed songwriter, is set to perform two very special retrospective ‘Sexsmith At Sixty’ concerts at Manchester RNCM Theatre on 8 November 2024, and The London Palladium on 10 November 2024.
Joined by his band, the concerts will showcase songs from his vast catalogue, featuring his most popular tunes, alongside deeper album cuts and fan favourites.
‘Sexsmith At Sixty’ promises to be an emotionally charged concert, which will be personal and intimate with quite possibly a few surprises!
On the shows, Ron Sexsmith says:
“With ‘Sexsmith At Sixty’ my plan was not to throw myself a big birthday party but to try and shine a humble light on my contribution to the pop songbook. I am very excited to be bringing this career retrospective show to Manchester, the renowned London Palladium, and to the UK audience who were the first to embrace my music.”
Ron Sexsmith was born and bred near Niagara Falls. He has released 17 albums to date – Grand Opera Lane (1991), Ron Sexsmith (1995), Other Songs (1997), Whereabouts (1999), Blue Boy (2001), Cobblestone Runway (2002), Rarities (2003), Retriever (2004), Destination Unknown (2005, with Don Kerr, released as Sexsmith & Kerr), Time Being (2006), Exit Strategy Of The Soul (2008), Long Player Late Bloomer (2011), Forever Endeavour (2013), Carousel One (2015), The Last Rider (2017), Hermitage (2020), and The Vivian Line (2023).
He has collaborated with the likes of Daniel Lanois, Mitchell Froom, Ane Brun, Tchad Blake, Martin Terefe and Bob Rock. His songwriting appears on albums from Rod Stewart, Michael Bublé, K.D. Lang, Emmylou Harris and Feist.
