THERE’S MONSTER MAYHEM AT THE MALL WOOD GREEN THIS JUNE AS PART OF THE LONDON FESTIVAL OF ARCHITECTURE

The Mall Wood Green will be coming alive this June with a series of giant monster sculptures as part of the London Festival of Architecture (LFA).

Created by artists Luke Egan and Pete Hamilton, aka Filthy Luker and Pedro Estrellas of Designs in Air, a pioneering inflatable design company which makes original inflatable sculptures and spectacular installations that have been featured at major events and exhibitions around the world, Monster Mayhem will run from 3rd-9th June.

As well as exotic flowers sprouting from entrances, there will be mysterious tentacles emerging from the shopping centre’s car park, and strange, colourful creatures watching guests’ every move.

There will also be free monster and floral face painting on 31st May and 1st June and a Monster Mayhem trail from 3rd-9th June, where kids can get busy finding all five of the giant sculptures on display around The Mall.

This wild installation at The Mall is part of the LFA, which is now in its 20th year. Wood Green is hosting a series of events throughout June to celebrate the Festival, and there’s lots to explore, including colourful murals, thriving creative workspaces, heritage buildings and of course the iconic Ally Pally.

“We’re so excited about our Monster Mayhem installation and can’t wait for visitors to see it,” says The Mall Wood Green’s Marketing Manager, Catriona Baillie. “There will be so much colour and lots to see, and we’re going to be encouraging guests to look up and look out!

“We’re thrilled to be part of the LFA and are proud to be working with Wood Green in reimagining our places and spaces and building on the character and diversity of the people who live and work here.”
