Last call for entries to Southwark’s top business awards

There are only a few days left to enter Southwark’s leading business awards.

The 2019 Southwark Business Excellence Awards in association with London South Bank University close for entries at 5pm, on Wednesday, 12th March.

There are 14 free to apply categories to suit every business type, size and sector across the borough. It’s easy to enter – or nominate another business – just register at www.southwarkawards.co.uk

Dozens of businesses have already submitted their entries following the huge success of last year’s inaugural awards programme which brought major benefits to those who won or were shortlisted.
Virocom, the 2018 Best Business for Tech & Innovation, said winning was a real boost for their firm, a leading communications technology service provider.

Martha Merrifield, Business Development & Marketing Manager commented, “This recognition has been important to our brand, getting our name out there. Not only has winning helped the overall growth of the business, it has given us the confidence to push on with the goals and targets on our strategic roadmap.”

Among this year’s entrants is Angela Burgess, the owner and editor of community magazines, SE21, SE22 and SE23 who has applied in the Women in Business category. Aside from editing the magazines, Angela is also involved in organising many community projects in the Dulwich area.
She said, “All our magazines help promote events in each area, giving coverage for free to events like NCT bring and buy sales. For 11 years I set up and ran the Dulwich Festival Fair, and I now arrange a charity fundraising lunch each December which raises money for Link Age Southwark.”
After the closing date, all the entrants will go forward to the first round of independent judging. The overall winners will be exclusively revealed at a glittering, black-tie Gala Dinner & Charity Ball awards ceremony this summer, hosted by ITV Good Morning Britain presenter Michael Underwood.
The Southwark Business Excellence Awards are sponsored by: London South Bank University, Southwark Chamber, Southwark Council, British Land, Delancey, Galliard Homes/Aviva Investors, Great Portland Estates, Landsec, Lendlease, London College of Communication UAL, Willmott Dixon and our Media Partner Southwark News. They are supported by Forepure Brewing, and Shangri-La Hotel at the Shard.
