SOHO WELCOMES BRAND NEW FREE-TO-ATTEND MUSIC EVENT: SOUNDS OF SUMMER ON LONDON’S CARNABY STREET

A brand-new music event is heading to Soho this summer. Arriving on July 20th on Carnaby Street, Sounds of Summer is set to electrify the neighbourhood with weekly music programming featuring a mix of rising DJs and renowned artists. Curated in association with local tastemakers Soho Radio, Sounds of Summer is designed to reflect the essence of Soho, capturing the heart and soul of this iconic London destination while celebrating its rich musical legacy and supporting contemporary talent.

Bringing together some of London’s most celebrated artists, Sounds of Summer kicks off with musical acts on Carnaby Street on Saturday 20th July. The free-to-attend community event will feature live performances by Kitty Liv and Sans Soucis, and DJ sets throughout the afternoon hosted by Soho Radio followed by a surprise headline act who will close the party in the evening.

From Saturday July 27th through to Saturday August 17th, Sounds of Summer continues with a takeover of Kingly Court every Saturday to bring the West End a dynamic line-up free to attend music sessions all summer long. Live From Kingly Court will feature bold performances from artists curated by Soho Radio and will provide a platform for emerging talents to showcase the city’s diverse musical landscape.

Across the wider Soho neighbourhood, venues will be introducing fresh music programming and curations to keep the sound going all summer long. New opening, The Little Violet Door will be hosting DJ-led house parties every Wednesday-Saturday, whilst intimate bar Under The Counter will be playing an eclectic, daily rotation of jazz, R&B, funk and more , with guest DJs taking to the decks every Friday and Saturday from 9pm till midnight. Visitors will also be able to catch daily jam sessions at London’s home of the blues, Ain’t Nothin But.

The Broadwick Hotel is hosting an artful evening of vinyl spinning, as Jack White’s iconic Soho Third Man Records store delegates their finest disc jockeys to take over the Flute stage on 17th July and for great food, drinks and live music, unconventional Japanese restaurant Inko Nito is launching DJ nights, every Friday from 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM.

This new community event heralds a fresh era for Soho, celebrating its storied musical heritage while pushing forward its cultural legacy. In its inaugural year, Sounds of Summer promises a thrilling curation of live performances, making waves right in the heart of London.
