The event brought together students, parents, teachers, and community members, showcasing the incredible talent and dedication of E-ACT City Heights pupils. They competed in a wide range of athletic events, including Sports Day favourites like the 100m and 200m sprints, javelin, and long jump.
Highlights of the day included an exceptional javelin competition between the Year 10 girls and the hotly contested 600m race, which ended in a thrilling photo finish. The excitement peaked during the 100m finals. The atmosphere was electric, with spectators cheering their classmates on to victory.
The decision to hold this year’s sports day at Dulwich College came about due to E-ACT City Heights’ strengthening partnership with the famous independent school. The partnership has also seen E-ACT City Heights’s students attend numerous events at Dulwich College and allows teachers from both schools to share their expertise.
Diana, a Year 7 student, enthusiastically shared her feelings about Sports Day: “It’s such a fun being here! The best part is seeing everyone get involved and having fun together.”
Speaking on the day, Marvin Charles, Headteacher at E-ACT City Heights Academy, said: “I couldn’t be prouder of the remarkable success of our Sports Day. Today is a testament to the dedication and sporting talent of our students, as well as the valued support of our staff and community.
