Catherine Ogden is set to return to the primary school where she was a teacher next week for the official opening of a new ‘Phiz Lab’ – a dedicated space for science which encourages practical, hands-on experiments – funded and supported by The Ogden Trust.

She will be accompanied by her family, Sir Peter Ogden, founder of the trust, and her children Cameron, Edward and her daughter Tiffany Chawner – all trustees of the family charitable trust which promotes the teaching and learning of physics.

Children from Avonmore Primary School will be showing off their new premises especially designed for them to experience the excitement of putting on a lab coat and immersing themselves in fun experiments.

They will be giving practical displays such as showing how rockets can be fired, and demonstrating the wonders of light in the dark room, using curriculum resources supplied by The Ogden Trust.
