Located in Cator Park at Berkeley’s Kidbrooke Village, the Attenborough award-winning park is one of the biggest in London and just a few minutes walk from Kidbrooke station.

The event marks the launch of Kicks, a Premier-League-backed youth football programme designed to inspire marginalised young people. Marcus Rashford and Raheem Sterling are among the many footballers to have supported the scheme. Following the launch, Kicks sessions will be run at Kidbrooke Village for local teens every Monday between 5pm and 7pm, alongside regular mentoring and employability workshops.
The day also celebrates the recently refurbished multi-use games area at Cator Park for a wide range of sports including tennis, 5-a-side, netball and cricket for young people at the Kidbrooke Community Hub.
The Sports and Fun Day is part of Berkeley’s commitment to create an inclusive community and a healthier and safer environment for all.
Paul Prichard, Development Director at Berkeley, said “We look forward to welcoming everyone along to our new-look games area, and are really pleased to be able to host Kicks here every week. We’ve been working closely with Royal Borough of Greenwich and partners in the community to make sure that local people feel the benefits of regeneration at Kidbrooke Village, and events like this are a great reminder for everyone of all the fantastic public facilities available to enjoy, right on their doorstep.”
