Known Source opens new vintage archive store in Westfield Stratford
Known Source, the grassroots platform of verified archive fashion dealers, proudly unveils its first long-term store at Westfield Stratford. This newly opened concept space offers a unique and immersive experience for vintage fashion collectors, showcasing a carefully curated selection of highly sought-after archive designer pieces.
The concept store features handpicked items from expert vintage dealers, presenting a thoughtfully curated collection of circular, second-hand products that celebrate the best in archive fashion. As the recent winners of the Westfield Grand Prix, Known Source has earned a retail space at Westfield Stratford, bringing a distinctive and highly personalised experience to East London. The brand’s mission is to redefine second-hand fashion, empowering customers with confidence in their purchases while fostering an authentic and trusted community.
Today, Known Source marks the first of the ‘dealer residency’ taking place at the store, a custom rail within the store dedicated to a new vintage dealer weekly who will run their own pop-up in the shop. Marking the stores first dealer debut, ARCHIVES by THIDVRT will host the first of the dealer residency, curating a rail of their best pieces, changing every week to showcase a new dealer. ARCHIVES by THIDVRT will be stocking classic vintage treasures to sought-after designer gems as they specialise in preserving and showcasing the very best of fashion’s past and present.
The store refreshes its collection weekly with new archive pieces, ensuring each visit offers something new. Designed with versatility in mind, the space also functions as an event space, showcasing the brand’s expertise in curating special second-hand pieces and fostering deeper connections with customers.
Working with established second-hand experts, Known Source offers an unparalleled selection of unique, one-of-a-kind items. The store houses a wide range of styles, from iconic brands like Adidas, Nike, Stone Island, Arc’teryx, Jean Paul Gaultier and Miu Miu, to unbranded graphic t-shirts and even specialist women’s vintage suits all hand selected by the best network of dealers including Bad Mouth*, Archive 89 and Second Wave.
“We’re thrilled to open our first long-term store at Westfield Stratford,” said Theo El-Kattan, co-founder of Known Source. “This store marks a major step for us in promoting circular curation and creating a dedicated space for the second hand fashion scene. A hub that doesn’t believe in individual genius but rather uniting a grassroots collective to spur consumer behaviour change. Our ever-changing collection of one-of-a-kind pieces and community events will lend itself to a dynamic, people-first, immersive experience. It’s exciting to bring our vision to life and welcome everyone to discover the stories behind each piece and its dealer”
The Known Source collective also brings their ‘renew’ model to the store, enabling any purchase from a Known Source dealer to be returned to the platform anytime. This seamless anytime returns process ensures there is no textile waste and extends the emotional memory of each curated piece, allowing clothes to have multiple lives through renewal.
Alongside Westfield Stratford’s support, Known Source has recently been sponsored by Deutsche Bank, MeWe360, Barclays, Innovate UK and New York University. Representative of Known Source’s goal to elevate second hand fashion’s position in traditional spaces.
