Share to Buy’s 20th Live Event Welcomes over 3,000 Aspiring Buyers

Almost 3,200 aspiring buyers attended the London Home Show on Saturday 28th September – hosted by the country’s leading online portal for first time buyer homes, Share to Buy, marking their 20th live event. To date, the London Home Show has welcomed over 73,000 hopeful house hunters through the doors of the QEII Centre in Westminster since it began in 2013.

The free-to-attend exhibition provided guests with unrivalled access to information on different buying schemes and products designed to help people step onto the property ladder, including Shared Ownership, Discount Full Ownership, London Living Rent and Rent to Buy. Over 40 exhibitors attended on the day, including sponsors Abri Homes, L&Q, Peabody New Homes, NHG Homes, Legal & General Affordable Homes, FABRICA, SO Resi, SiteSales, Southern Housing New Homes, Aster Sales, Square Roots and Places for People.

Attendees were able to chat with sales teams from some of the country’s biggest and best-known housing providers. Mortgage brokers, solicitors and conveyancers were also on hand to share a wide wealth of knowledge on all things home-buying.

A major draw for guests, the London Home Show ran over 20 live sessions throughout the day across three key categories – Housing, Financial and Legal. Over 1,600 people attended sessions during the show, meaning over half of guests made full use of the jam-packed event programme.

New for September 2024, Share to Buy hosted its first-ever session, led by Head of Brand & Content, Jade Turnstill, to a full crowd of budding buyers. Other highlights included Ask the Experts: Shared Ownership Q&As and the hugely popular affordability sessions hosted by independent mortgage broker, Censeo Financial, to help buyers understand the mortgage process.

A further addition to the day’s line-up, SO Resi recorded a live episode of their ‘SO in the Know’ podcast. SO Resi’s Head of Resales and Staircasing, Sarah Ellis, was joined by speakers from mortgage experts, Censeo Financial, and residential property solicitors, E J Winter & Son, for a chat about all things Shared Ownership.

Jade Turnstill comments: “The London Home Show remains a major event in the property industry’s calendar, and it’s important that hopeful buyers are able to access high-quality information about buying a home – as evidenced by the weekend’s strong turnout. We remain dedicated to helping first time buyers step onto the property ladder by offering honest, unbiased information on the products available to them.”

“It’s also fantastic to see the London Home Show in its 11th year and to officially celebrate our 20th live event. We will be back next year for the spring London Home Show, but we are also excited to be working behind the scenes on even more regional events following the success of our first Bristol Home Show this summer. We look forward to sharing more details about our upcoming exhibitions in the South West and North West of England in 2025!”

The London Home Show will return to the QEII Centre in spring 2025. Tickets will be released early next year, visit the Share to Buy website to register an account and keep up to date with event announcements.
