The Gate Restaurant, Announces Its Annual Wild Mushroom Festival

The Gate Hammersmith, one of London’s longest established plant-based restaurants, loved by A-listers from Gwyneth Paltrow to Moby, is back with its annual Wild Mushroom Festival.

Whether you’re a mushroom lover or just looking to try something new, this is the perfect excuse to enjoy an evening of original plant-based dining, celebrating the finest seasonal wild mushrooms and the part they play in plant-based cuisine.

A range of mushrooms, with distinctive flavour profiles, make this magic mushroom menu a saliva-inducing umami treat. Embrace the elusive umami fifth sense, with a Mushroom Bellini before indulging in this specially curated menu.

The menu comprises of Truffle Pâté served with crostini to start, followed by a rich and savoury Wild Mushroom Broth with lavash croutons.

Taking things up a notch, enjoy King Oyster Nigiri, pan-fried king oyster topped with a mango and enoki salsa followed by a Mushroom Bourguignon, cooked in a rich red wine sauce, served on a bed of garlic and herb mushroom mash, topped with Jerusalem artichoke crisps.
To finish; enjoy “The Garden”, a mushroom chocolate mousse, vanilla jelly, Cointreau shimeji, orange coulis and dark chocolate crumble.
The entire menu of foraged mushrooms is sustainably sourced without artificial cultivation and the seasonal window makes this a rare, special edition menu.
