Westway Cross opticians celebrate 10 years of care in the Greenford community

CHRISTMAS came early for shoppers visiting the premier West London corridor’s shopping retail park at the weekend, as they received VIP gift vouchers and special anniversary discounts.

Celebrating 10 years in the Greenford community, the directors of Specsavers Westway Cross welcomed the Mayor of Ealing, Cllr Yvonne Johnson, who presided over the official celebratory event. A resident of the Borough for over 45 years, Cllr Johnson joined Ealing Council in 1986 and has twice been its Deputy Leader.

The Mayor was given a tour of the store by ophthalmic director Shaan Patel and retail director Padmarekha Halubai who also introduced her to the other directors, including ophthalmic director Atul Ladwa and audiology director Julie Caulton, plus VIP guest Sujith Weerasinghe, Specsavers Regional Relationship Manager for North West London.

Commenting on the 10-year celebrations, Mrs Halubai said: ‘We’re delighted to welcome the Mayor to our store today to join in our special 10th anniversary.

‘The time has flown by since we opened in 2014. The retail park has greatly changed during that time as more national retailers have launched their sites here too, with the retail park becoming a destination centre for the West London region, and a highlight within the M25. We’re also very proud of the difference our team makes.’
During the Mayor’s visit, Cllr Johnson gave a short speech and cut the anniversary cake, followed by a toast to many more years of providing the very best sight and hearing care to the community. The Mayor then mingled with guests and customers.

Shaan said: ‘We’re thrilled that the Mayor of Ealing has been able to support this important anniversary along with our store team.
‘As a team we are extremely proud to be part of the community, delivering a high standard of clinical care and customer service. We’re also very grateful to our long-serving customers and their families who have become part of our community over the last 10 years.’
