Better Green Group Launches Its Latest Sustainability Manifesto
London-based sustainable refurbishment company, Better Green Living, has launched its latest Sustainability & Outreach Report and Manifesto outlining the company’s commitment to enhance responsible practices across its business operations in line with the UK’s target to become Net Zero by 2050.
The report outlines steps Better Green Living has taken to improve the environment and support communities. Notably, 20% of the company’s post-tax profits are dedicated exclusively to sustainability initiatives and social impact projects. These funds go directly to those in need of small charities including Smart Small, Isle of Wight Youth Trust, Home-Start Guildford and other grassroots efforts both domestically and internationally over the last two years.
Since 2022, Better Green Group has been working with Trees4Trees, a nonprofit organisation dedicated to combating deforestation in Indonesia. The group pledged to plant 30,000 trees in five years, and two years in, a review of the project confirms that 16,585 trees have been planted, 63 families assisted with safe drinking water, and 11 families educated in sustainable farming.
Better Green Living has also been working on reducing its own carbon footprint, successfully offsetting all staff commutes, office emissions, and daily waste, and transitioning all London-based staff to 100% public transport. In conjunction with Bristol-based Ecologi, Better Green Group has also contributed to the conservation of UK wetlands. The Group has recently achieved the Investors in Diversity accreditation for Small Businesses.
The manifesto highlights several key projects, including:
Working in partnership with local on-site recycling company Westminster Waste, achieved the Zero to Landfill target, with 62.4% of stripped-out materials being recycled and the remaining 37.6% being used for energy recovery in the form of biomass fuel or Solid Recovered Fuel for renewable energy generation
Assisting knife-crime activist Faron Alex Paul, including funding 24 MET-approved amnesty boxes to facilitate the safe collection and transport of knives recovered from the streets.
100 tonnes of CO2e saved across 12 months through its operations via Ecologi
Sponsoring 90 students monthly through Start Small, a programme providing education for at-risk and underprivileged youth in Nakuru, Kenya.
Reducing renovation costs and environmental impact by over 75% in projects at King’s College London.
Working with King’s College London to organise a community outreach day to South London homeless people, with a hot meal, showers, haircuts and health services, with a second planned for March.
Supporting fundraising for The Isle of Wight Youth Trust that provides mental health services for young people.
Helping Home-Start Guildford by sponsoring its major fundraising Ball.
Working with the New Horizons Youth Centre in King’s Cross including funding new sports kits.
Sponsoring the Chiddingfold Summer Fete, PTA and Church fundraisers.
Deborah Parsons, Group CEO and Sustainability and Outreach Director at Better Green Living, said: “Our Sustainability & Outreach Report and Manifesto is at the heart of every decision we make, guiding us and driving us to ensure we make a positive impact in our sector and the wider environment. It’s not just a privilege to give back – it’s a commitment, and we promise to deliver transparent and accurate reports on our progress.
“Every client and every contract enables us to do more, and we are very grateful for all the support we have received this year. In 2025, we will continue to work with smaller charities, maximising what we can achieve – our staff have a genuine passion for the causes we support, and their sense of pride inspires us to do more.”
Better Green Group is a creative design and build production company, with three divisions, the newest of which is Better Green Living, a construction company dedicated to sustainable retrofitting projects within the education and commercial sectors. The Group has doubled its turnover to reach £9 million in its most recent financial year, largely attributed to the growth of Better Green Living, which has successfully completed a dozen phases of refurbishment for King’s College London and is now working on an additional eight phases.
