Leadenhall to host special weekend market ahead of Valentine’s Day
Nestled in the heart of the City of London, Leadenhall Market will be hosting the much-loved SoLo Craft Fair for a special Valentine’s pop-up weekend market, creating the perfect occasion to buy something beautifully handcrafted for one’s significant other.
Open from 12-5pm on Saturday 8 February, the popular market run by makers, for makers, will see handmade jewellery, artwork, home accessories and more, to inspire creativity and romance among couples.
In addition to its market stalls, SoLo Craft Fair will also be holding a special Love Tarot Reading workshop, for free, from 12-3pm, offering people the opportunity to discover what’s in store for their love life in the year ahead.
The Victorian marketplace successfully reintroduced market stalls in 2024, with a series of popular weekend pop ups, after a 40 year hiatus. Its cobbled alleyways, set under the magical cover of its airy wrought iron and glass structure, creates the perfect romantic setting ahead of this year’s Valentine’s Day.
For those looking for a romantic meal on Valentine’s Day itself, Leadenhall Market has a plethora of places to choose from to suit all budgets and tastes. From fine dining to wine and cheese, to beer and burgers, tapas and sangrias, or French pastries and cocktails, the iconic destination has couples covered. Check with individual food & drink outlets for special offers.
Situated in the centre of the City of London’s financial district, the current Grade II listed Market building, designed by Sir Horace Jones, dates back to 1881. Its wrought iron and glass structure replaced the stone market previously created by Lord Mayor of London, Dick Whittington in the 15th Century. Now, the market is home to 24 restaurants, cafes and bars, which sit alongside 14 retail outlets, creating a hub for shopping and dining in the City
