Marugame Udon announces brand new Spring Menu for Cherry Blossom Season: A culinary ode to Hanami
This spring, Marugame Udon is paying a culinary ode to Hanami and bringing the taste of Cherry Blossom season to the UK.
Launching on 4th February, the brand new Sakura Miso Udon range is a tribute to the cherished tradition of Hanami in Japan, with every bite set to transport dinners beneath a canopy of delicate pink blossoms.
A celebration of spring and renewal in Japan, Hanami is a time for families and friends to gather under the blooming trees and enjoy the fleeting beauty of the blossoms, whilst sharing stories and savouring seasonal delicacies. In homage to this much-loved tradition, from the 4th February Marugame Udon brings the UK two brand new spring dishes.
Introducing:
Sakura Miso Salmon (£12.95) – Udon noodles in a traditional umami miso broth with shichimi spice, topped with marinated salmon, bok choy, onsen egg and classic Japanese garnishes
Sakura Miso Tofu (£12.45) – Udon noodles in a traditional umami miso broth with shichimi spice, topped with marinated tofu, bok choy, daikon and classic Japanese garnishes
The Sakura Miso Udon range is a tribute to the timeless ritual of Cherry Blossom season, weaving the essence of Hanami into every bite. The comforting miso broth, rich with umami and a hint of shichimi spice, mirrors the warmth and vitality of springtime gatherings. The marinated salmon and tofu, tender and flavourful, symbolizes the abundance of the season, whilst the fresh bok choy adds a touch of green, reminiscent of new life sprouting under the blossoms. The silky onsen egg evokes the gentle balance of nature and the classic garnishes—bonito flakes swaying like petals in the breeze—complete the experience.
Each bowl invites dinners to pause, reflect and savour, much like the fleeting yet unforgettable moments spent beneath the cherry blossoms.
Spring at Marugame Udon will also see the launch of a brand new Yakisoba-style range on 4th February. The sweet and savoury ‘dry noodle’ dishes will include:
Yakisoba-style Chicken Meatballs Udon (From £11.75) – Udon noodles in traditional Japanese yaki sauce with chicken meatballs and stir-fried veggies. Topped with bonito flakes and furikake seasoning.
