London to host world premiere of spectacular new Space Rhapsody

One of the world’s leading orchestras, the Royal Philharmonic, will give the world premiere of a spectacular Cosmic Rhapsody at London’s Barbican Hall on 5 May 2025.

This spectacular one-night-only event will feature internationally renowned pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet, joined by London Voices, The City of London Choir, and singer Tom Ball, a finalist from America’s Got Talent.

The short film that accompanies Cosmic Rhapsody has already won Best Musical Film and Best Inspirational Film at the New York International Film Awards, and also took home a prize at the Los Angeles Film Awards.

Cosmic Rhapsody is a bold and imaginative new work that blends science, storytelling, music, and animation. Inspired by real scientific breakthroughs, it tells the story of a man and an AI travelling into space in search of answers to Earth’s climate crisis.

Created by physician-scientists Dr Susan Lim and Dr Christina Teenz Tan, with music by Manu Martin, the piece explores how artificial intelligence and human strength might work together to build a better future.

The evening’s concert also includes Gershwin’s I Got Rhythm Variations and Holst’s The Planets – a musical journey through the solar system.

Decca Classics will release a digital album of Cosmic Rhapsody on 2 May 2025.
