Hilton London Bankside’s general manager, James B. Clarke is awarded Master Innholder status
Hilton London Bankside, the Hilton brand’s flagship London design hotel, has long been recognised for its outstanding customer service and focus on customer experience. Now the hotel’s general manager, James B. Clarke, has been awarded Master Innholder status.
The applicants of the membership take part in a thorough application process, which includes interviews and a 1500-word essay to assess their personal philosophy and ascertain the part they play within the hospitality industry. It is, in fact, recognised as one of the highest honours of hotel management. James B. Clarke will now go on to act as a mentor and stand as part of the organisation’s effort to inspire the next generation of hotel professionals.
James has stood at the helm of Hilton London Bankside and steered the hotel into a bright future; in three short years he has guided Hilton London Bankside to be bestowed with the Hilton Award of Excellence and the Better Bankside Community Contribution Award.
An important part of James’ ethos is to promote a healthy work environment for his staff that allows them to gain new skills and grow into confident hospitality professionals. James has ushered in several community focused initiatives during his time in management, with the staff developing new skills in networking and assisting with several charity projects. In particular, Hilton London Bankside has been actively supporting The Dragon Café – a mental health charity which holds an open café and activity centre every Monday for those who suffer from mental health issues.
Stuart Bailey, CEO of Splendid Hospitality Group remarked on James’ recent accomplishment:“James has always been at the forefront Hilton London Bankside’s success. His intuitive nature and forward-thinking attitude have seen the London hotel move from strength to strength through initiatives that engage the local neighbourhood and residents.”
Another initiative that was launched under the tutelage of James involved supporting the local community during the Summer 2018 ‘Fox Marks the Spot’ campaign. Hilton London Bankside worked closely with local businesses to encourage visitors to explore the local area through a bespoke urban trail.
Commenting on the achievement, James B. Clarke, General Manager of Hilton London Bankside stated, “To have been awarded with Master Innholder status is an immense honour and undoubtedly a highlight in my career. It also marks an important turning point for Hilton London Bankside as part of the Bankside community.”
