The perfect spot for an al fresco cider to cool off during this long awaited heatwave!
Just in time for the late spring warmth, Bethnal Green’s al-fresco reprieve Umbrella Cider House has opened its doors. London’s first and only working cider house, the space has been created by The Umbrella Project – the team behind cult East London bars The Sun Tavern, Discount Suit Company, and Umbrella Workshop.
With a spacious 60-capacity al-fresco terrace, Umbrella Cider House promises to be the ideal spot to unwind and enjoy the summer months in London. Over the next months visitors can expect to enjoy live comedy and music, sports screenings, and cider tastings – and with a pool table, DJ booth, and dartboard inside the bar area, it’s the perfect place to socialise and take shelter from the elements as well.
Visitors can expect an array of quality ciders, including Umbrella London presses, which are brewed and blended on site. Umbrella London ciders are made using bittersweet dabinett apples and fruit juices from a single source in the British countryside. The clean tart rhubarb cider is using dessert apples and freshly pressed rhubarb with a delicate fruity aroma and a pale rosé hue, and the lackcurrant cider combines blackcurrant and cherry for a little sweetness balanced with a refreshing sharp finish.
Umbrella Cider House will also serve a selection of local East London beers on tap from Two Tribes, wine by the glass, bottled cocktails from their acclaimed Shoreditch bar The Umbrella Workshop, and guest food from East London’s favourite traders.
