Sardinia Meets Puglia for a One-Night-Only Evening at Restaurant Capilungo
Capilungo – a one-of-a-kind Pugliano café and restaurant in the heart of Covent Garden – is welcoming purveyors of fine and traditional Sardinian food, Capo Caccia Fine Food, for one night only. Together, the duo will celebrate the very best Sardinian and Puglian produce on Friday 30th May. The partnership marks the beginning of an ongoing series of ‘… Meets Puglia’, which will see Capilungo play host to those specialising in regional Italian cuisines.
The first in the series will welcome native Sardinian Antonio Arca and his team. Antonio founded Capo Caccia in 2012 to bring his love for traditional Sardinian food to his adopted home of London. The products, which include cheeses, seafood, cured meats, and more, are the perfect introduction to the delicious flavours of Sardinia, created thanks to the Island’s unique variety of micro-climates, clean air, and luscious landscapes.
The three-course menu will include:
· Stuzzichino (to nibble) to accompany an aperitivo: Taralli Pugliesi, delicious little snacks from Puglia
· Antipasto Misto (to start): Platters with a mix of Puglian and Sardinian cured meats and cheese
· Primo (for main): Pane Frattau, an ‘old time’ classic Sardinia Lasagna made with pane carasau – a traditional thin and crispy flatbread from Sardina – instead of pasta sheets
· Dolce Leccese (dessert): Sponge Tart Tortino, filled with ricotta and chocolate
Tickets will be priced at £32 per person, with a limited number of seats available. Aperitivo cocktails and a selection of hand-selected wines will be available to pair with and enjoy alongside the dishes. Tickets can be purchased from Capilungo directly, or through Open Table.
The café is a family-owned business, with the bakery in Lecce founded in 1991 and dedicated to quality ingredients, local delicacies, and today bringing a little piece of southern Italy to London.
