A LEVEL STUDENTS DELIGHTED WITH THEIR SUCCESS THIS YEAR IN LONDON

Students and staff are celebrating at Bobby Moore Academy, part of the David Ross Education Trust, as sixth-formers receive their A level results today.

The year 13s sat their examinations earlier this year, in May and June, with students finding out today where their results will take them next.

Students across the country will have faced some disruption to their education over the past five years and Bobby Moore Academy is proud of all the hard work and dedication students and staff have shown. Additional support has included a range of interventions after school, opening the academy during half terms and giving students access to external speakers and industry experts.

This extra input by staff and students is reflected today as many sixth formers receive their confirmed offers for university, apprenticeship or offers of work.

Some of the success stories at Bobby Moore Academy:

– Luke, one A*, two As and a B, has been a Bobby Moore Academy scholar since Year 7 and has ended this part of his journey with us in impressive style! He did phenomenally well in his examinations and will take up a place at either Imperial College London or Durham to study Physics, but the door will always be open for Luke to come back and see us as part of our Alumni.

– Nikhita, three As and a B, worked incredibly hard this year in her pursuit of joining the medical profession. The BMA community are so pleased for her and her achievement as she will now take up a place at Kings College London to embark on a Biomedical Science course. We are thrilled that the legacy you wanted to build is now becoming your reality.

– Nishetah, two As and one B – spent 2 years at Bobby Moore Sixth Form working hard to secure free school meals and bursaries for other children as well as supporting them through apprenticeship interviews and is a true role model for our mantra that “dignity and kindness is key”. We are so proud of her achievements which means she has secured a place at Lancaster University to study Accounting and Finance – her first choice option. A brilliant end for a wonderful scholar.

Bobby Moore Academy is part of the David Ross Education Trust, which was established in 2007. It is a family of 36 primary and secondary schools with a mission to broaden the horizons of pupils through world-class education. The trust is committed to offering academic excellence, strong community links and outstanding extra-curricular opportunities to students.

Ms S Donnelly, Principal at Bobby Moore Academy, said: “I am delighted that we have seen an increase in our percentage of A*-B grades and a number of scholars attending Russell Group Universities and we are very proud of their hard work and accomplishments. We are sure that next year with the introduction of our vocational subjects, our football academy and the continuation of our Elite Scholars Programme that scholars’ achievements will continue to flourish.”
