London-based Transport2 accelerates shared transport revolution with new CEO appointment
Transport2, the market-leading provider of transport management services behind the Kura platform (incorporating CoachHire.com), has announced the appointment of Godfrey Ryan as CEO as it continues its mission to reduce car use and create safer, greener journeys.
Godfrey brings two decades of experience across senior commercial roles, having worked in high growth, technology-based businesses and multinational organisations in the air transport, telecoms and legal sectors.
Godfrey played a leading role in the digital transformation of the aviation sector during his time with UK company Waviatech as it evolved from a disruptive start-up when he joined the business in 2005, to its acquisition by AerData B.V. in 2010 and subsequent acquisition by Boeing in 2014.
Transport2 has spent the past year expanding its service offering, launching its award-winning home-to-school solution Kura and doubling its customer-base. Each day, thousands of school children complete their home to school journeys or school trips safely, providing parents with peace of mind via the secure Kura parent app with tracking technology. Transport2 also provides managed transport services and Kura tracking technologies to the corporate sector for home-to-work, staff shuttle and event needs.
Commenting on his appointment, Godfrey said: “As an employer, and parent, I can relate strongly to Transport2’s mission to create safer, greener shared transport for workplaces and schools. The safeguarding of our children and employee well-being in a Covid and post-Covid world makes safe, secure transport more vital than ever. Transport2’s expertise, technology and infrastructure are well positioned to meet these needs and create new opportunities for our operator partners as they recover from lockdown.”
Andrew Hall, Chairman at Transport2, said: “Godfrey’s appointment is a huge milestone in the ongoing evolution of Transport2 as we grow across the education and corporate sectors. We’re extremely excited to welcome Godfrey on board and look forward to working together to help the business achieve and surpass its tremendous potential.”
