A man will appear in court charged with the murder of a woman in Tower Hamlets.

Jalal Uddin, 46 (01.06.72) of City Island Way, Poplar, E14, has been charged murder – he will appear in custody at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 14 January.

This follows an incident at an address in City Island Way, E14 on Friday, 11 January. A woman was found with a neck injury and pronounced dead at the scene at 16:17hrs.

While formal identification awaits, the deceased is 31-year-old Asma Begum.

Uddin was arrested on Saturday, 12 January and charged on Sunday, 13 January.
