A trio of figures dressed as the ancient Egyptian god Anubis stunned London commuters
In a scene straight from ancient mythology, Anubis, the Egyptian god of the afterlife, stopped London commuters dead in their tracks as they descended upon the capital this morning.
The spectacle unfolded as rush hour crowds encountered a mysterious trio marching around iconic London landmarks.
The towering deities, adorned with the distinctive jackal-headed mask of Anubis, appeared at Oxford Circus and Regent Street before emerging from underground at Piccadilly Circus, and making their way towards the river Thames and the oldest London landmark gifted from ancient Egypt, Cleopatra’s Needle.
The ancient emissaries’ pilgrimage embraced modern conveniences, waiting at bus stops whilst passers-by gawked and laughed at the unusual, otherworldly scene.
Showcasing how Egypt is closer than you think, the three figures were promoting easyJet Holidays’ new package deals to Luxor, Egypt’s ancient capital, including new 7-night Nile cruise holidays.
