A new ‘Wickedly Good’ spa experience has been launched by spa booking agency SpaSeekers to celebrate the year’s biggest movie release Wicked: For Good – and help customers to ‘defy gravity’.
And while anticipation for the film has grown, so have Google searches for stress and fatigue remedies as winter hits, making a spa day the perfect remedy.
Launched in collaboration with the Rena Spa at NYX Hotel London Holborn, the creators hope this one-of-a-kind experience will offer fans of Wicked the chance to de-compress – as well as get the ultimate Glinda glow up!
What does the Wickedly Good Spa Package involve?
Complete with themed black and pink spa robes and slippers that double up as Elphaba’s cape or Glinda’s gown, the package is perfect for two friends looking to keep the hype of the film going and swap Shiz University, for a luxury spa.
In addition to being given a full day’s access to the spa’s facilities that include a Greco-Roman swimming pool, sauna, steam room and gymnasium, guests will also be able to discuss the film over a complimentary themed cocktail – edible glitter included!
Most importantly of all however, is the 40-minute facial that makes up part of the package. This is geared towards helping customers to ‘defy gravity’ by brightening tired skin and balancing skin tone and texture, by using organic products and special green or pink face masks that fully match the theme.
The facial is then finished with a scalp massage to promote better scalp health and hair growth – exactly what guests need if attempting Glinda’s iconic hair flicks.
How can people book the Wicked-themed spa package?
With the first instalment of the movie adaptation having grossed close to $1 billion, SpaSeekers are expecting high demand for the unique package, which has limited availability, so are asking fans to simply register their interest online via a simple form.
Successful applicants will be chosen at random, with one lucky pair of friends set to be offered the experience, which comes at a cost of £99 per person, for completely free – showing there is such a thing as a ‘good deed’ after all.
Jason Goldberg, Director at SpaSeekers.com, comments: “Spas are a place to relax, unwind and indulge in some much-needed self-care. However, they are also places to be surprised and transported out of your everyday life, something that films like Wicked do equally well”.
“With many people in busy cities across the UK searching for stress relief, we thought it was the perfect time to do what we do best: create a standout experience for our guests, with luxury treatments and relaxation in a beautiful setting, and a little bit of fun thrown in too!”
“As the cold, dark nights of winter approach, it’s not just fans of Wicked who could benefit from a trip to the spa. The opportunity to switch off for a day could be just what people need, ahead of the Christmas rush”.
Which cities need a break the most?
SpaSeekers chose London as the home for the Wickedly Good Spa Package not only because it is where Wicked: For Good will have its UK premiere, but also because it ranks as the city most in need of some rest and relaxation.
Researchers analysed Google search demand for terms related to fatigue and stress relief and then broke the near one million yearly UK searches down by city. Other busy, work focused cities such as Birmingham, Leeds and Glasgow also ranked highly as being in need of some stress relief.
