A hospital manager from Abbey Wood who supports men with learning disabilities has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Amazing Manager Award (South) category at the Stars of Learning Disabilities and Autism Awards 2025.
Elizabeth Uhgu, Manager of Cygnet Bostall House on Knee Hill Road, Abbey Wood, said she was “honoured” to be shortlisted for the awards which celebrates the exceptional workforce and providers who deliver outstanding support to people with learning disabilities and autism across the UK.
Cygnet Bostall House is a six-bed care service for men with learning disabilities and is part of the Cygnet Health Care division.
Reflecting on her nomination, Elizabeth said: “Throughout my role as a Hospital Manager, I remain focused on delivering safe, compassionate, and person-centred care for every individual we support.
“This recognition reflects not only my commitment, but the extraordinary dedication of my entire team at Cygnet Health Care. Together, we strive to promote dignity, empowerment, and inclusion, ensuring that people we support receive the high-quality healthcare experience they deserve.
“I truly love working in my role as a hospital manager because I have the opportunity to influence lives at the moments that matter most. Being able to support the incredible teams who deliver exceptional care and ensuring they have what they need to succeed is deeply fulfilling.

The Stars of Learning Disabilities and Autism Awards is an annual celebration of compassion, excellence, and innovation. It provides an opportunity to recognise the dedication of professionals and individuals with lived experience who make a real difference challenging stigma, raising awareness, and championing the rights of people with learning disabilities and autism to live fulfilling, meaningful lives.
The awards, hosted by Traitors star and Mencap Ambassador Alexander Dragonetti, will take place on Friday 5 December 2025, at The Manchester Mercure Piccadilly Hotel.
