To celebrate the FIFA World Cup 2026 landing in America, Pizza Pilgrims is
bringing back its cult-favourite Americana pizza across all UK pizzerias this June and July. Inspired by a genuine Neapolitan pizzeria classic, the pizza features a white base topped with sliced hot dogs and fries. Staying true to its slow-proved dough and authentic Neapolitan roots, Pizza Pilgrims’ take embraces bold, nostalgic flavours – done the Pilgrims way.
Originally launched in 2023, the pizza sparked strong reactions online, but Pizza Pilgrims is backing its return this summer.
“Proper Italophiles will know this is actually a super legit pizza found all over Italy,” said Pizza Pilgrims Founder James Elliot. “To the untrained eye, it might look like an
abomination, but for many Italians, it’s the pizza they grew up eating. We’re bringing it back to celebrate the World Cup being hosted in America – and this time, we’ll see if the nation’s ready for it.”
Along the pizza return, selected Pizza Pilgrims pizzerias – including Canary Wharf, Chelsea, Shoreditch, Hyde Park and Nottingham – will be turning into proper matchday viewing spots this summer, screening all England quarter, semi and final games live throughout the tournament, with tickets on sale now. Expect all the atmosphere of a big game without the elbows-out sports bar chaos: long communal tables, beers flowing, slices landing on the table and last-minute winners being screamed at across the room. In partnership with Beavertown Brewery, each £4 ticket includes a guaranteed seat, an ice-cold beer on arrival and a few extra surprises on the night, including games and prizes to be won off the pitch.
And finally, Pizza Pilgrims will also be bringing pizzas into pubs screening matches across the country – so no matter where you are, you’re never far from a slice on game day.
