Arsenal FC fans NOT happy | They would rather have “Visit Tottenham” on their kit
A new Arsenal supporters group, Gunners For Peace, is calling on the club to drop Visit Rwanda as a sponsor ahead of next season. The group cites Rwanda’s funding of the M23 rebel group in Eastern Congo. The M23 Group is accused of war crimes, including mass murder and child soldier recruitment. Gunners For Peace says this is incompatible with the values of a “great club” like Arsenal. The UK government recently imposed sanctions in response to Rwanda’s actions.
In protest, the group is launching a bold satirical campaign. At its heart is a provocative message: Arsenal fans would rather see their shirts branded with arch-rival Tottenham’s logo. From billboards and fly posters around North London to spoof “Visit Tottenham” merchandise and social content, the campaign blends humour with hard truths to spark a conversation and confront sportswashing in football.
The group wants Arsenal fans to properly see the message ahead of the upcoming Arsenal vs Crystal Palace match, with visibility near the stadium designed to start debate.
Of the Arsenal fans polled spoken to:
58% support ending the deal with ‘Visit Rwanda’
25% opposed ending the deal
20% selected ‘Don’t Know’
The campaign invites fans to reclaim the values Arsenal has long stood for—class, tradition, and integrity—and demand a sponsorship that reflects them.
