Featuring an array of rising young artists and bands primarily from the north-west, Artists United Collective today release their take on The Farm’s indie classic ‘All Together Now’. All proceeds from the track will go to the Music Venue Trust to support their #SaveOurVenues campaign. As well as streaming the track, fans can further support the initiative by ordering a CD or a new t-shirt design here.

This new version of the unifying anthem opens with a new introduction from Jack Jones of Trampoline, who captures the immense passion that both fans and musicians have for the long-awaited return of live music: “We’ll soon be stepping out with a sense of wonder… Hold on tight, we’re almost there.” The song then bursts into life, opening with passionate vocals from Jamie Webster and Alex Moore of The Lathums, before a selection of the UK’s most vital new talents take their moment in the spotlight.

The accompanying video takes us on an emotional rollercoaster, and reiterates just why the Music Venue Trust’s campaign is so important. It opens with shots of Liverpool’s Olympia, still as empty and desolate as it has been for much of the last fourteen months. But as the song’s final rallying cry “Let’s go home” hits hard, we see the life-affirming scenes that live music inspires: artists utterly enraptured in their performance, audiences escaping their day-to-day worries, and everyone being united in an unforgettable moment. They’re scenes which hopefully aren’t too far away from being a reality.

The idea for the song was launched by the team at scotts, the menswear specialists who have always highlighted the cultural links between fashion and new music. Their aim was to support grassroots music, to celebrate the UK opening back up, and to highlight the importance of supporting one another.

scotts teamed up with This Feeling, the club night and label renowned as champions of emerging rock ‘n’ roll, along with Manchester’s multi-faceted music company Modern Sky UK, to bring a strong collective of young musicians together. They then spent the day in the studio working alongside producer Rich Turvey (Blossoms, Courteneers). The video was then produced by Liquid Agency and Nick Woods, and edited by Dan Hewitson.

The Music Venue Trust is a registered charity which acts to protect, secure and improve UK grassroots music venues for the benefit of communities and upcoming artists. Their #saveourvenues campaign raises funds to prevent the permanent closure of vital music venues due to COVID-19. While countless venues all over the country have already been helped by the initiative, many more are still in critical danger and require funding to keep them in business as well as guidance to ensure their safe reopening.

The Farm’s original version of ‘All Together Now’ was released in 1990, peaking at #4 during a six week run in the Top 10 that Christmas. It features on the band’s debut album ‘Spartacus’.
