BARBS launches special Christmas menu

Barbs, the UK’s first authentic Bajan fast casual restaurant, has launched its Christmas menu at Queen of Hoxton, offering a festive line up that blends seasonal comfort food with the bright, bold flavours of Barbados.

This is Barbs’ first Christmas since opening its Shoreditch restaurant space in partnership with Queen of Hoxton. The new dishes build on Barbs’ commitment to scratch-made cooking, family recipes and wholesome ingredients that showcase the depth of Bajan cuisine.

The Christmas specials introduce a playful mix of classic comfort dishes and island flavour. Each item takes inspiration from Barbados while staying true to the festive season.

Deep Fried Brie

Soft French Brie coated in golden breadcrumbs and served with a Bajan cranberry sauce.

Crispy Cauliflower Bites

Cauliflower seasoned the Bajan way, coated in cornflour and served with Bajan cranberry sauce, crispy onions and sage crumb. Suitable for vegans and gluten free diners.

Chicken Wing-Mas

Crispy chicken wings coated in sage and onion crumb with a Bajan cranberry sauce.

Turkey Christmas Cutter

Warm and generous in size. Tender turkey breast with spiced Christmas slaw, pork scratching, gravy mayo, sage and onion crumb and Bajan cranberry sauce, all served in a soft potato bun. Gluten free option available.

Portobello Christmas Cutter

A juicy Portobello mushroom with spiced Christmas slaw, corn scratching, gravy mayo, sage and onion crumb and Bajan cranberry sauce, served warm in a potato bun. Suitable for vegetarians with a gluten free option available.

The Bajan cranberry sauce featured across the menu is made in-house and uses island-inspired seasoning to create a sweet and savoury balance that pairs with both meat and plant-based dishes.

The Christmas menu sits alongside Barbs’ core favourites including the Bajan Fried Chicken Burger, Fried Fish Burger, Bajan Roti Wraps, Mac Pie Balls, Bajan Fishcakes and the popular Piña Colada Waffle. All dishes are made from scratch using traditional techniques and the brand’s family recipes.

As with the main menu, the Christmas dishes are supported by Barbs’ range of house-made sauces. These include the creamy Fancy Sauce, the herby Mayo, the classic Barbs Tomato Ketchup and the authentic Bajan Hot Pepper Sauce made with cucumber, turmeric and mustard.

“This is our first Christmas at Queen of Hoxton and we wanted to create something that feels festive while staying true to who we are,” says Nicc Wright, Founder of Barbs. “These dishes bring together familiar Christmas flavours with the seasoning, brightness and warmth of Barbados.”

Queen of Hoxton continues to provide the perfect home for Barbs. The venue is known for creativity, culture and community, and remains one of London’s most recognisable destinations for food and nightlife.

“We are pleased to see Barbs bring its first Christmas menu to life in our space,” says Andy Maddocks, Managing Director of Mothership Group. “It feels unique, thoughtful and full of flavour.”
