Batch.Works launches equity crowdfunding campaign to accelerate R&D of agile and circular manufacturing systems
Agile manufacturing company Batch.Works has launched its first public round of funding via an equity crowdfunding campaign on the Seedrs platform to accelerate its research and development of AI-driven smart factory systems and its delivery of Circular Manufacturing as a Service (CMaaS).
The Seedrs campaign launched on Monday, offering 7.89% equity at Batch.Work’s pre-money valuation of £3.5m. Within 24 hours it reached its target of £300,000 and is now overfunding.
Global manufacturing and production accounts for 1/5 of carbon emissions and 54% of the world’s energy usage. Demand is soaring for sustainably manufactured products. Batch.Works’ mission is to transform the $726BN manufacturing industry by offering agile, circular manufacturing capabilities to corporations around the world. With advanced Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM) 3D printing technology, it can streamline production processes, reduce costs, and embrace sustainable practices.
“This campaign is the first and last chance to invest in our company at its current valuation,” said Julien Vaissieres, CEO and founder of Batch.Works. “Previous investments have been private, but we expect that many of you would like to join us as we develop our agile manufacturing systems designed to transform the way things are made and enable the circular economy. We hope this public campaign will make more people aware of our purpose, building a wider community around our business.
“Our smart technology and sustainable production methods are helping companies move faster, find success and reduce waste. We reduce the capital investment needed for traditional methods and reduce risk by providing flexible, on-demand manufacturing capabilities and extending product life cycles.”
With investment from the leading clean-tech fund, Sustainable Ventures, £1.8M in government grant projects and early traction with headline customers, this start-up is ready to scale.
Over the past six years, Batch.Works has partnered with over 50 clients across furniture, retail, med-tech and consumer electronics sectors to print over 150,000 parts from recycled or bio-sourced materials.
Its current business model generates revenue by providing design consultancy and manufacturing services directly to customers, but in 2024 the agile manufacturing company will launch its CMaaS subscription model – an advanced cloud-based warehouse and scheduling software allowing clients to bring circular manufacturing capabilities in house for a monthly fee.
