Be Great in Greenwich: 2025 Secondary school offer day

Most Royal Greenwich students will be heading to a preference secondary school in September 2025 with 63.8% setting off to their first choice.

Offers went out today, Monday 3 March, to children who are taking the step from primary to secondary later this year. There will be 91.5% of children going to a school in one of their top six preferences.

Thousands of students will Be Great in Greenwich by going to a school in the borough. We received 3,104 applications this year and 77.5% are heading to a Greenwich secondary school.

It is no surprise there has been a decline in applications received this year due to the predicted falling demand for secondary school places in London with 5% less received than in 2024.

Councillor Adel Khaireh, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: “Our schools strive to ensure every child and young person has an equal opportunity to succeed and to reach their full potential.

“It’s great to see that majority of our residents will be heading to a school in our borough and that it is their first preference.

“We have brilliant secondary schools, inspiring teachers and an engaging curriculum for our new Year 7’s to get stuck into. So, get those uniforms ironed and pencil cases filled because secondary school is in session!”

Some families may still be waiting for confirmation of their child’s place due to the popularity of Royal Greenwich schools. We’re working hard to make sure students are given a school place as soon as possible and hope to be able to issue an update by the end of March.
