Behind Closed Doors Installation comes to the South Bank – shedding light on dementia

Alzheimer’s Society, the UK’s leading dementia charity, is launching a powerful new campaign to shed light on the hidden realities of dementia – the UK’s biggest killer and the health and social care crisis of our time.

The charity has created Behind Closed Doors, an interactive installation which allows visitors to see, hear and share their real-life experiences of dementia. The exhibition includes examples of the hard-hitting phone calls received by Alzheimer’s Society’s Support Line every day, voiced by a host of famous name supporters.

Anyone can add their voice and experiences at the installation or alzheimers.org.uk/stories so Alzheimer’s Society can bring dementia out from behind closed doors and make it the political priority it needs to be.

When: 3 October 2024, 8am – 5pm
Where: Observation Point, near Gabriel’s Wharf, Upper Ground, London SE1
Visitor information: Behind Closed Doors is a fully accessible event, free and open to the public
