BEST BURGER FRIENDS FOREVER TAKE ON UK-WIDE RESTAURANT TOUR
Two burger lovers have found life-long friendship after making it their mission to eat their way through every Honest Burger restaurant in the country.
Grace Turner, 30, and Hannah Meikleare, 29, have become BBFFs or ‘Best Burger Friends Forever’ after kicking off a mouthwatering UK wide burger odyssey in 2022.
Grace, who is originally from Brierfield in Lancashire and Hannah who grew up in Elgin in north-east Scotland, moved to separate areas of London for work and wanted to meet up somewhere on a regular basis that would allow them to discover different areas of their new city, but that wouldn’t break the bank.
“Suddenly we were going to Honest Burgers every week and realised it was such a great way to see London, as well as only costing us £10 each for a good quality meal,” says Grace. “In a big, overwhelming city, sharing a burger and catching up made us feel right at home”.
More than 12 months later their passion for a great burger and a catch-up has taken them on finger-licking tour completing every Honest Burgers in the capital, and now the girls who have eaten more than 34 burgers since taking on the challenge have just 6 more restaurants to go.
The girls decided to set up a restaurant review account on Instagram called Honest_Honest_Burgers with the idea that they wouldalways order the same items – an Honest beef burger and the veggie fritter burger, with rosemary salted chips as their side and sparkling water to drink.
“We tend to order the same every time to make sure the scoring is consistent, but when we drag a friend along, we always encourage them to try one of the monthly or local specials because they always sound so good,” says Hannah.
To date, Honest Burgers Borough is the highest-rated restaurant according to their account.
The first part of their challenge to tuck into a burger at every Honest London restaurant came to a triumphant finish at Honest Burgers Brixton, the original Honest Burgers which opened in 2011, where the team congratulated the girls with a joyous event surrounded by their closest friends.
To also mark the occasion, Honest Burgers’ Head of Food, Adam Layton, presented them with illustrated plates and a commemorative plaque which will hang in the Brixton restaurant.
Hannah Meikle, Honest Burger Superfan, said: “Honest Burgers started off as a great place for us to catch up to share our love of burgers but now it has become such a special part of our lives. We really appreciate the team for acknowledging our visits like this, it’s amazing to get recognised for eating good food. We will definitely visit the Brixton branch more often to see our amazing plaque too!”
Adam Layton, Honest Burgers, Head of Food, said: “Myself and the team absolutely applaud Hannah and Grace for their dedication to Honest Burgers and the travels they have made so far to try every restaurant across the country. Honest bringing people together for a good time and a juicy burger is all we can hope for and we wish them happy eating on the rest of their burger bonding!”
