BLUEY’S BIG PLAY THE STAGE SHOW CONFIRMS CAST AHEAD OF UK AND IRELAND TOUR

The cast are now confirmed for the upcoming UK and Ireland premiere tour of Bluey’s Big Play. The stage production will hit the road this December and tour until summer 2024. The run includes residency over the festive period at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall in London from 20th December – 7th January.

Bluey’s Big Play features original voices from the TV sensation, including the instantly recognisable voices of Dave McCormack and Melanie Zanetti as Bandit and Chilli Heeler. While the larger-than-life puppets are commanded by the stage show’s talented cast.

The cast confirmed for the UK and Ireland tour comprises Laura Raineri (Best of the West End – Royal Albert Hall Concert, Songs for a New World – London Palladium concert) Tess Oliver (Seussical: The Musical – Rose Bruford) and Shakira Alleyne (Hey Duggee the Live Theatre Show – UK Tour) as Bluey. Miroe Fuches (Pulse – Bridewell Theatre, The Wizard of Oz -Live Business) Charlotte Rae (The Angel of December -The Bracton Centre, PITS -Edinburgh Fringe Festival) and Laura Hyde (Dick Whittington- London Eye and Phoenix Arts Club, The Wizard of Oz – Saffron Hall) as Bingo. Helena Mitchell (The Dinosaur Show – Southwark Playhouse, Milkshake Live -UK Tour) Sophie Blythe (Void – The Space Theatre) and Lucy Whitney (Tickle The Musical, Rumpelstiltskin – The Park Theatre) as Chilli and Adam Ryan (The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show – West End & UK Tour, The Smurfs Live on Stage -World Tour) Jon Godsi (Jurassic World: The Exhibition -Luna Cinema) and Aarod Vawser ( Bluey’s Big Play – Australia and UK Tour) as Bandit.

Directed by the multiple-award-winning artistic director of Windmill Theatre, Rosemary Myers (Girl Asleep, The Wizard of Oz, Pinocchio), and designed by the multiple-award winning Australian Film and Theatre Designer Jonathon Oxlade, Bluey’s Big Play remixes some fan favourite moments from the TV show, produced by Ludo Studio, with a brand-new story penned by Bluey creator Joe Brumm and scored by Bluey composer Joff Bush.

Bluey’s Big Play is produced by Andrew Kay and Cuffe & Taylor with Windmill Theatre Co for BBC Studios and has already enjoyed much success in Australia and the U.S. In Australia, the tour premiered in Bluey’s hometown Brisbane and went on to perform 447 times across 65 venues, including the Sydney Opera House. The tour is currently in the U.S. where it’s played at the Hulu Theatre at Madison Square Garden in New York, the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles and the iconic Chicago Theatre. A Canadian tour was announced earlier this year and also commences in December.

Since bursting on to TV screens in Australia in 2018, Bluey has enjoyed a plethora of critical success at home and abroad, winning a 2022 BAFTA Children & Young People Award in the International category, and picked up its fourth consecutive AACTA Best Children’s Programme award – in addition to an International Emmy® and numerous craft and production awards around the world.

Jointly commissioned by ABC Children’s and BBC Studios Kids & Family, Bluey is produced by multi-Emmy award-winning Ludo Studio in association with Screen Queensland and Screen Australia.

The series streams to U.S. and global audiences (outside of Australia, New Zealand and China) across Disney Channel, Disney Junior and Disney+ through a global broadcasting deal between BBC Studios Kids & Family and Disney Branded Television. In its native Australia, the show goes out on ABC. In the UK, CBeebies and BBC iPlayer is the free-to-air broadcast platform for Bluey. In Ireland, Bluey airs on free-to-air channel RTÉjr and is also available on RTÉ Player.
