Bone appétit! Vegan dog food is now on the menu at Brewdog, Purezza, Vurger and more restaurants across the UK
To celebrate Veganuary, plant-based dog food company THE PACK has partnered with some of the UK’s leading restaurants and cafes to serve up their drool-inducing dog food to pups dining with their owners.
Cooking-up delicious plant-based meals for dogs, THE PACK is shaking up the pet food industry, to prove that plant-based is not just the future for us humans, but for our furry friends too.
Customers’ pooches will be offered a complimentary ‘Dogs Dinner Done Right’ vegan meal of their choice at participating restaurants*, and encouraged to eat alongside their furry best friends. They’ll be able to pick from three nutritionally complete flavours; ‘No Fishy Dishy’, ‘No Moo Ragu’ and ‘No Cluck Casserole’, made with blends of pulses, proteins, seeds, fruits, vegetables, and superfoods, meticulously crafted for happy tummies, shiny coats, and maximum wags.
THE PACK’s ‘Dogs Dinner Done Right’ will on the menu at the following dog friendly locations throughout January:
Biff’s Kitchen @ Brewdog (Dalston, London)
Purezza (London, Hove, Manchester)
Vurger** (Brighton)
Erpingham House (Norwich)
WAVE – We Are Vegan Everything (Hackney, London)
MOTHER (Hackney, London)
Barkney Wick, (Hackney, London)
Whilst millions of Brits are cutting down on meat in their own diets, pet owners are also looking for ways to reduce meat in their beloved pet’s diet, and THE PACK is making it easier by providing cans of their plant-based wet food to diners eating at the above restaurants.
Set up by Co-founders Judy Nadel and Damien Clarkson, the pet-food-tech company is the first company in the world to produce multiple plant-based meat analogue wet dog food flavours, with three alternative options to fish, chicken, and beef – all nutritionally complete and healthy.
Judy Nadel, Co-founder of THE PACK commented::
“Any pet parent can tell you how frustrating it can be finding dog friendly restaurants. So THE PACK is delighted to be working with pioneering cafes and restaurants up and down the country who are enabling dogs and their parents to enjoy eating their food together – and knowing they’re reducing their carbon footprint and pawprint with every bite!
The pet-tech-food startup believes that the same disruption in the human world is needed in the meat-heavy pet food industry, which currently produces 64 million tons of carbon dioxide each year. The environmental carbon pawprint of pet food manufacturing creates greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to the total emissions from the Philippines (yes, the entire country!)
Loui Blake, Founder of Erpingham House and investor in THE PACK added:
“We love dogs here at Erpingham House, so it was a no-brainer to put THE PACK dishes on our menu. We want dogs and their pet parents to have the best dining experience with us and we can’t wait to see how it goes down with customers!”
Ahead of Veganuary 2022, THE PACK predicts that 50% of dogs in the UK will be flexitarian by 2030 and the rise of the ‘flexi-dogian’ is upon us. Citing the rapidly evolving climate crisis and a shift in consumer attitudes as the driving force behind the rise of what THE PACK calls ‘flexi-dogians’, the pet food startup, made up of a team of animal nutritionists, scientists, and pet parents, describe a ‘flexi-dogian’ as a dog that eats mainly vegetarian and vegan food with the occasional meat treat.
Launched in September 2021 via a direct to consumer offering and on The Vegan Kind Supermarket. THE PACK has huge plans to grow in 2022 as they embark on their mission to make plant-based eating for dogs an everyday occurrence.
On a mission to create a better world for pets and the planet, starting with dogs, throughout the month of Veganuary, all new customers will receive 30% off their first order when they visit www.thepackpet.com and THE PACK is be on the menu across the country ready to slurp up at participating restaurants!
