BookTok: the most popular viral novels on TikTok’s subcommunity

BookTok is the TikTok subcommunity that is taking the platform by storm. With approximately 70.8 billion views on the BookTok hashtag, this trend is seeing books that were published years ago being catapulted to the top of the current best sellers list.

The BookTok trend is seeing online creators using the BookTok hashtag to share their latest book recommendations, give reviews, and post videos of their latest book purchases to the app, connecting with other book lovers on a mass-scale, and essentially using TikTok as the platform to host the world’s largest online book club.

With many BookTok videos going viral this year, the TikTok subcommunity for book-lovers has recently experienced a significant boost in popularity.

Users have also been hashtagging the names of books that they are reviewing or recommending, and in many cases, this has led to the particular book trending on the app, boosting sales significantly.

With the BookTok community continuing to grow and with a huge impact on the publishing industry, trends expert Nick Drewe from WeThrift has compiled a list of some of the most popular viral books on BookTok and where you can find them.
