Boxpark Croydon Holding First Ever Sleep Out in Croydon
As homelessness in London continues to be a significant challenge, Evolve Housing +
Support will be staging Croydon’s first ever Sleep Out at Boxpark Croydon on 24th March 2019.
Sponsored by Croydon BID, Evolve are inviting local residents to join the fight in ending homelessness.
Evolve is a leading homelessness charity in London that provides housing and support to over 2,000
people each year, currently supporting over 300 homeless people in Croydon alone.
As the number of homeless people in the Capital continues to rise, Evolve will be hosting a Sleep Out at Boxpark Croydon
to encourage people to give up their beds for a night and help raise much needed funds.
The experience will by no means replicate the tough and challenging conditions faced by the 8,108
homeless people in London, however it will represent a collective coming together as a commitment
to making a difference to homeless people.
The Sleep Out will begin at 9.30pm in Boxpark Croydon where participants will register and be able to
grab a cuppa. Some of the people Evolve support who have lived the experience of sleeping on the
streets will speak to participants and at 11pm people will bed down for the night on the main floor
and begin the night’s challenge of ‘Sleeping Out’. By 6.30am on Monday morning, the challenge will
be complete, and there will be breakfast baps and coffee for those who gave up their beds to raise
awareness and much needed funds.
Anyone is able to take part in the Sleep Out at Boxpark Croydon with a registration fee of £20 and a
minimum amount of £175 raised in sponsorship per person, all of which will go towards supporting
homeless people. Evolve’s aim is to have participants leave the Sleep Out grateful that they have
homes and beds to return to and satisfied that they’ve been proactive in the fight against
homelessness.
