Brian Cox joins Hollywood’s international acting coach Bernard Hiller for an exclusive London Masterclass

A couple of weeks ago, London became the centre of the acting world when internationally renowned coach Bernard Hiller hosted his latest Masterclass—featuring a very special guest, Emmy-winning actor Brian Cox (“Succession”).

Known for training some of Hollywood’s biggest names, from Cameron Diaz, Jeff Goldblum to Lindsay Lohan. Bernard’s Masterclasses are celebrated for blending professional techniques with personal transformation. This recent London edition drew talent from across Europe and Asia, and attendees described it as nothing short of “career changing.” “The week I train with him, I always seem to get a job”

Bernard, can you tell us about your latest London Masterclass?

‘We brought together the best actors and artists from all over Europe and Asia to meet one of the greatest actors working today, Brian Cox. He doesn’t usually attend events like this. The information that he shared with the group was career and life changing.”

As your special guest was Brian Cox, what inspired the two of you to collaborate?

“I had the pleasure of meeting Brian Cox and his wife Nicole at a special event held by Clive Davis in upstate New York. After meeting each other, we realized that we felt the same way about the training of an actor, and the role actors should play in society.”

What was the highlight of Brian Cox’s appearance in your class, and what wisdom did he share with your Masterclass participants?

“Brian spoke about how we should always carry a picture of ourselves at four years old. The child inside is who we truly are, and once we share that person, we can accomplish anything. Children believe that anything is possible.”

He also said we should let go of all the labels that society gives us. We need to all live as one large humanity. Separation from each other causes chaos and hatred. Truthfully, we are all one!”

Can you tell us about other well-known film or TV professionals who have appeared in your classes?

“Previously, in our classes worldwide, we had the honor of having Al Pacino, Director Baz Luhrmann “Elvis”, Stephen Frears, Simon Curtis, Bryan Cranston, Lionel Richie, and Jeremy Irons. Plus, the top agents and managers, from CAA to WME.”

What upcoming projects should we look out for from you?

‘I’ve written the screenplay that we are shooting next year with Andy Serkis as our director. It’s about the importance of the performing arts during the crisis of war. Art reminds us of our humanity. We also recognize that we all have the same three needs: to be loved, accepted and wanted.”

What is the importance of acting?

“Through the stories we are hopefully becoming a more empathetic and tolerant society. Art strives for us to have more compassion and understanding of others. No matter what the language of the film is, the subject is always clear and something we can all relate to.”

The exclusive London Masterclass took place in August, but its impact is still reverberating weeks later. Bernard Hiller has once again proven why his classes are some of the most sought-after Masterclasses in the world. Business people, creative, and executives attended. These classes help them to identify their purpose, mission and connect them to their inner power and charisma.

And with his upcoming film project directed by Andy Serkis, Bernard is set to continue shaping not just the careers of actors, but the cultural conversation about the power of art itself. Next classes will be in Tokyo, London and Rome!
