Bushey House Beaumont care home to Host Later Life Financial Planning Event

Bushey House Beaumont Care Home is inviting members of the local community to attend an informative event focused on financial planning for later life, offering practical advice and guidance for individuals and families navigating important decisions.
Understanding that organising finances for later life can feel complex, the team at Bushey House Beaumont has partnered with expert guest speakers to provide clear, accessible information. The event will feature Rabeya Islam, an accredited member of the Society of Later Life Advisers, alongside Anne Stennett from Curwens Solicitors.

Together, they will cover key topics including Wills and estate planning, funding long-term care, available support options, and how Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs) work in practice. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions and receive tailored guidance.

A key focus of the session will be the importance of having LPAs in place, particularly for those with loved ones in a care home setting. Without an LPA, families can face significant delays and challenges in managing finances or making important decisions if someone loses mental capacity. Establishing an LPA does not mean giving up control or rights; it only comes into effect if an individual is no longer able to make decisions for themselves.

The speakers will also highlight why it is beneficial to consider putting LPAs in place earlier in life, rather than waiting until later years, as this ensures plans are made calmly and proactively, rather than under pressure during difficult circumstances.

Mary Jane Bague, General Manager at Bushey House Beaumont Care Home, said:
“We recognise how important it is for individuals and families to feel confident when planning for the future. Having the right arrangements in place, such as Lasting Powers of Attorney, can make a significant difference at what can already be a challenging time. By bringing together trusted professionals, we hope to provide clarity, reassurance, and practical support to those considering their options.”

The event is open to anyone interested in planning for their own future or supporting a loved one, and refreshments will be provided.
Thursday 21st May starting at 6:00pm to 7:30pm.
