Café Mama & Sons to Launch Ube Mochi Croissant

Kentish Town’s newest Filipino bakery Café Mama & Sons is launching an exciting new pastry to their menu – an Ube Mochi Croissant, shaped like a bow.

Launching officially on Friday 15th August, the treat will be available for £5.90 and showcases the rich, earthy tones of ube, perfectly complemented by a hint of vanilla in every bite.

So how is this artisan treat made?

A bespoken ube mochi is nestled inside a flaky, croissant bow, laminated in-house. Each one is brushed with a light sugar syrup and garnished with toasted coconut flakes. Get that satisfying cheese pull sensation when you rip open the purple layered pastry!

Since opening in April, Café Mama and Sons has shaken up traditional café culture with their expert blend of Filipino Classics and Japanese influences. This newest sweet speciality is sure to be a hot item, after the success of their Banana Ensaymada pudding and Milo Tiramisu.

And if that leaves you feeling a little thirsty, there’s a whole selection of quality summer drinks to gulp down and enjoy. Think classics with Filipino twists, like the Corn Fields (sweetcorn milk with espresso), Ube Matcha, or bright pink Sala Ade (snakefruit syrup, lime and soda).

While you’re there, why not sample their full menu, with a range of scrumptious sandos including Corned Beef, Adobo Mushroom and fan favourite Jerk Chicken Club.

Located a few minutes’ walk from Camden tube station, Café Mama and Sons is serving up savory and sweet delicacies 7 days a week, 8-5 (or 9-5 on weekends so you can get that little lie in!). Pop into the cute, cozy cafe to treat yourself to one of their elevated classics.
