Café Mama & Sons x Mama Li Launch Limited Adobe Duck Sandwich for British Sandwich Week

British Sandwich Week is fast approaching (18–24 May), and to celebrate, Café Mama & Sons, Kentish Town’s Filipino bakery, has teamed up with Cantonese style restaurant Mama Li to create something seriously tasty: the Adobo Duck Sandwich, available for one week only.

Blending Café Mama’s signature adobo-style cooking with Mama Li’s authentic Hong-Kong style Siu Mei (roast meats) the sandwich features tender, roasted duck seasoned with a mix of aromatic herbs and spices, dried for 48 hours, topped with crispy onions and fresh cucumber, all tucked into Café Mama’s house-made pandesal sando bread. Fully halal, It’s rich, punchy and perfectly balanced, packing big flavour in every bite.

The sandwich will be available at Café Mama & Sons, the Kentish Town café known for blending Filipino bakery traditions with Japanese-inspired sandos. Founded by restaurateur Omar Shah the concept is rooted in over two decades of experience across London’s food scene. Everything is made in-house using their signature pandesal dough, a soft Filipino bread that underpins both their sweet and savoury creations, with a menu driven by creativity and cross-cultural influence.

Joining them is Mama Li, a London favourite for authentic Hong Kong-style siu mei. Founded by Catherine Hua and her mother, the brand is built on family recipes and traditional techniques, specialising in Cantonese roast meats including crispy pork, BBQ pork, soy chicken and roast duck, alongside comforting noodle dishes and cha chaan teng classics.

Bringing these two together, the Adobo Duck Sandwich is a celebration of flavour, heritage and London’s ever-evolving food scene. The sandwich is only here for a limited time at Café Mama & Sons – run dont walk!
