Caisteal Chamuis presents: Mysterious Tales from the Castle in the Mist

Caisteal Chamuis Blended Malt Scotch Whisky presents “Mysterious Tales from the Castle in the Mist” – a one-off event at The Vaults, Waterloo that gives the whisky curious a chance to experience the ghostly myths and legends of the Scottish Hebrides and the now derelict castle that gives Caisteal Chamuis its name, all with a dram or smoky Caisteal Chamuis cocktail in hand.

Taking inspiration from the traditional Scottish Cèilidh, a gathering of old and new friends and family who come together to tell stories of lore and listen to Gaelic folk music, well-known Scottish author John Niven has crafted a new take on the mystifying story of Caisteal Chamuis. Shrouded in mystery and inspired by the bloody battles that took place on the Sleat Peninsula from the 15th century between the rival Macleod and Macdonald clans, a group of authors chosen by John will tell haunting stories of ghosts and ghouls in the mist to thrill and inspire a whisky curious audience.

Enigmatic and smoky, yet inexplicably smooth, Caisteal Chamuis is an intriguing whisky that’s heavily peated and smooth. Double-barrelled for extra smoothness, it’s a fragrant, layered and complex whisky with soft peat to start and honeyed, peppery with sweet spice and creamy vanilla to follow. It’s complex and soft, yet characterful – putting to rest any trepidations whisky drinkers may have about smoky, peated whiskies.

The event will take place on Wednesday 19th October from 6.30-9.30pm. Tickets will be available via Eventbrite (here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/caisteal-chamuis-presents-mysterious-tales-from-the-castle-in-the-mist-tickets-431600668217) and the event will be free to attend.
