Commuters in Canary Wharf were treated to a sheer spectacle this morning, as Montgomery Square appeared to dramatically drop into the Dinosaur Age.

The spectacular scene was the creation of award-winning artists and Guinness World Record holders 3D Joe and Max, bringing to life a pivotal scene from Warner Bros. Pictures’ new film The End of Oak Street, released in UK cinemas this Friday, 14 August.

The film, starring Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor, sees a mysterious cosmic event rip their quiet, family friendly Oak Street from 1980s suburbia and transport their neighbourhood to the prehistoric age, with dinosaurs roaming free… and hungry.

The jaw-dropping artwork, which is on display all day Monday and Tuesday, is over 1,200 square feet and was created over two weeks by the world renowned 3D artists who have created spectacular 3D anamorphic art installations around the world, from New York to Shanghai . Painted in acrylic on canvas, the display also features 3D elements of a black cab and phone booth, both apparently sliced down the middle by the mysterious cosmic event.

Artist Joe Hill said of the artwork: “As a 3D artist and huge dinosaur enthusiast, this brief couldn’t have been more exciting. The End of Oak Street is a thrilling and hugely inventive edge-of-your-seat experience and we’ve tried to reflect that in this immense immersive art display.

“It’s been great incorporating the 3D elements and seeing people pose within the artwork today has been a joy to behold.”

Anyone visiting the experience in Montgomery Square, opposite Canary Wharf station can choose prop or costume elements inspired by the film’s 1980s setting, pose within the artwork and grab a free slice of pizza, inspired by Greg’s (Ewan McGregor) job as a pizza delivery driver.

The experience is open from 12pm to 7pm each day, with pizza served from midday until stocks last.

The End of Oak Street is released in UK cinemas on 14 August 2026
