Celebrate Afternoon Tea Week at Theatre Royal Drury Lane
Celebrate Afternoon Tea Week at Theatre Royal Drury Lane. From the 8th – 14th of August, The Lane will be celebrating in style by championing their Luxury Regency Afternoon Tea offering, performances from a live harpist, as well as giving one lucky winner the opportunity to win a Luxury Afternoon Tea experience for them and a guest.
Served in the opulent surroundings of the Grand Saloon, the Luxury Afternoon Tea starts with a glass of Taittinger Brut Reserve and a welcome serving of blinis with Exmoor Royal Beluski caviar. Priced at £99 per person, tea includes a generous array of savoury bites with madeleines topped with lapsang-souchong glazed salmon, bitesize cannelés with whipped ricotta and pickled beetroot, a signature Lily Vanilli puff pastry sausage roll made with Cornish sausage meat, roast bacon lardons and a cider vinegar deglaze. Warm scones will be brought to the table with salted whipped butter, cream and homemade jams.
For tea enthusiasts, a spectacular menu of loose leaf teas has been curated by Henrietta Lovell of the Rare Tea Company. Afternoon Tea Week also sees the launch of the brand new Summer Punch, consisting of some quintessentially British flavours; Pimms, apricot liqueur, cucumber and lemon juice. Sip on your drink of choice while in the company of a stunning live harpist in the Grand Saloon.
Afternoon Tea is served on bespoke fine bone china designed by Kit and Willow Kemp. Named The Mythical Characters, the collection celebrates the rich history of the theatre, with a bespoke tea service fit for royalty.
