CELEBRATE CHINESE NEW YEAR AT HOUSE OF MING LONDON

The globally acclaimed House of Ming is launching an exclusive offering to celebrate Chinese New Year in London. From 9th-11th February, the restaurant will be adding a fiery cocktail to its menu, along with a selection of mouth-watering dishes.

2024 brings with it the year of the Wood Dragon, which represents health, strength, and good fortune. Raise a glass to the Lunar New Year with the Firestorm, a fiery cocktail served with dehydrated oranges crusted with 5 Chinese spice and flaming garnish.

Chinese New Year is all about reuniting with family, and people travel from near and far to come together with loved ones. Sharing a meal together is a special occasion to bond and share blessings for the year ahead. House of Ming will be adding six limited edition dishes onto its menu, as the number six represents luck during the Lunar New Year. Don’t miss the Yuanna Style Lamb with Celery and Ginger Chilli and Sichuan Style Oriental Vegetable.

House of Ming will be honouring a few Chinese New Year traditions including adorning the restaurant with stunning lucky bamboo centre pieces and the gifting of red envelopes. A cherished tradition of the holiday involves elders gifting red envelopes, to children and grandchildren to bestow good fortune for the year ahead. On Chinese New Year’s Day, all guests dining at House of Ming will receive a red envelope with a special offer inside.

The restaurant is housed within St. James’ Court, A Taj Hotel, and offers diners dishes inspired by regional Sichuan and Cantonese cooking, unique creations from the creative chef team and recognisable House of Ming favourites. The hotel team will continue the celebrations and from 9th-11th February overnight guests can sample refreshing Chinese tea at a pop-up tea station during breakfast in TH@51.

Mehrnavaz Avari, Area Director UK & General Manager said: “We are eagerly anticipating the upcoming vibrant celebrations of Chinese New Year at the House of Ming, which continues to be a favourite among many. We’re thrilled to welcome guests to join us as we embrace the joyous traditions and festivities.”
