Blue Christmas – Wednesday December 14., Doors 6.30pm, service 7.00pm

For the first time this year, Union Chapel is offering a space for quiet reflection, prayer, and meditation. We know that while Christmas is a time of new birth, it can also be a time of anxiety and sadness. We think of loved ones who may be living away from us, or those who have died. Maybe our personal circumstances are tough, and we cannot afford to join in the excesses of the season. Or we feel the need to avoid the sentimentality and commercialism without obscuring the beautiful message which comes from faith.

The idea of Blue Christmas comes from the United States where churches have offered a quieter service sensitive to people who need time in a reflective space during this season. The beautiful Union Chapel will provide that space.

The event will include music, poetry, and meditation. The service will be led by Rev Vaughan Jones with organist Anthony Fort.

Free. No booking required. Arrive early to avoid disappointment.
