CELEBRATE EID AT 17&CENTRAL
17&Central is inviting guests to celebrate Eid in traditional style on Tuesday 3 May. The shopping centre has organised a free henna station where two local artists will be creating some amazing Eid body art for visitors.
The henna station will be located in the centre court area of the shopping centre, near the staircase and will be open from 12pm-5pm. Although the event is free of charge, 17&Central will be accepting donations for Waltham Forest-based charity, PL84U AL SUFFA, which it has been supporting for over a year.
PL84U AL SUFFA provides a range of services for local people of all ages including hot meals, a food bank, companionship, recreational facilities and haircuts, sleeping bags, clothes and warm kits for the homeless.
Last spring, 17&Central installed a miniature food bank outside Asda for the charity and has since been encouraging shoppers to donate essential food items while doing their weekly shop.
Gwendolyne Lobo, Marketing Manager for 17&Central, commented: “We’ve been associated with PL84U AL SUFFA for a while now and would like to continue supporting the charity with donations from our henna event. This will mean that it can provide food to those that need it most, especially during Eid, which is a time for celebration, when no one should go hungry. We also wanted to join with our local community and be part of their special Eid celebrations and felt that henna art would be a wonderful way to mark the end of Ramadan.”
