Part of the  Woolwich Lates programme, the eleven days of activity will celebrate autumn and light festivals from across the world, including Harvest, Moon Festival, Diwali, Hannukah and Bonfire Night. 
 
The square will come alive with street food, crafts and produce traders, free fun activities for children, fun fair rides and live entertainment for all ages. From dusk, a spectacular light tunnel will perfectly frame your autumnal selfies and trees will be illuminated with colourful, interactive lighting. 
 
Free story times, arts and crafts and mascot meets will keep little ones entertained, while the fun will continue after dark with music and dance performances.  
 
Councillor Adel Khaireh, Cabinet Member for Equality, Culture and Communities, said: “We had a fantastic summer of free, inclusive events across the borough, from Together 23 to our Royal Greenwich Festivals. But we don’t want the fun to stop there.  
 
“Our brand-new Autumn Night Lights programme will bring Woolwich town centre to life and celebrate light festivals from across our diverse communities. 
 
“So, what are you waiting for? Grab a hot chocolate, enjoy free live entertainment and get that all important rainbow tunnel selfie!” 
 
Councillor Mariam Lolavar, Cabinet Member for Inclusive Economy, Business and Skills, said: “Woolwich has so much to offer after dark, and the Mayor of London recognised this when he awarded Woolwich Night Time Enterprise Zone status. 

“Our Woolwich Lates programme supports local traders, by boosting the night-time economy in the area through exciting events and activities. 

“We can’t wait to welcome residents to General Gordon Square for Autumn Night Lights with Woolwich Lates. Come along to support local businesses and see what your local town centre has to offer this autumn.” 

Councillor Ann-Marie Cousins, Cabinet Member for Community Safety and Enforcement, said: “We’re working to bring people together through a series of seasonal events this Autumn.

“Autumn Night Lights will support our commitment to ensuring our town centres are fun, vibrant, prosperous and safer places for all.” 

The events will run from 10am to 8pm, except Tuesday 31 October and Sunday 5 November which will both end at 6pm. 

This Autumn Night Lights project has received £22,595 from the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. It is supported by the Mayor of London’s Night Time Enterprise Zone. The programme is aimed at boosting high streets and town centres for the benefit of businesses and residents.
