Afternoon Tea:
The iconic Theatre Royal Drury Lane is the only West End theatre where you can experience Afternoon Tea and is one of the most romantic spots to share with loved ones this February.

The Lane’s limited edition ‘Season of Love’ Afternoon Tea is served upstairs in the opulent and atmospheric Grand Saloon, with gilded high ceilings, large windows and crystal chandeliers, it creates a true sense of Regency romance.

Our Taittinger Sonneteers will be available for poems on 8th, 9th, 14th, 15th, 28th February and 1st March. This group of talented poets will roam the Grand Saloon during the Afternoon Tea service, and after a brief conversation with their subjects, will create a bespoke and personalised poem for guests to take home with them. Inspired by Thibaud IV de Champagne, whose numerous love songs and poems led to him becoming the most famous “chansonnier” (songwriter) of his time and one of the so-called “Trouvères” (epic poets from Northern France). His lyrics were renowned for their beauty as well as their freedom of expression.

The Season of Love Afternoon Tea features a sumptuous dessert selection from Lily Vanilli including a fluffy vanilla cake filled with passionfruit and buttercream, topped with a handmade gold chocolate cupid, finished with bright pink and red icing and adorned with red love hearts and is perfectly paired with the Taittinger Prestige Rose.

Additionally, from February 8th to March 2nd, all diners will receive a special gift – a packet of wildflower seeds to let love bloom.

Exclusive Dining Experience:

For Valentine’s Day evening, we are offering an exclusive 8pm dining experience in our stunning Grand Saloon. Our specially curated three-course menu showcases seasonal British dishes with a modern twist, featuring a wide selection of choices for each course. This dining experience is ideal for those seeking a delectable set menu in the heart of Covent Garden’s Theatreland. Limited to only 20 sittings available per session, it’s the perfect evening for theatre enthusiasts, as The Lane remains the only West End theatre offering this unique dining experience.

Date-Night Drinks:

Head to the Cecil Beaton Bar for pre-or post-theatre date night drinks, offering a great intimate venue for a Valentine’s or Galentine’s evening, while The Lane’s Winter Terrace offers a wonderful winter rooftop hideaway overlooking bustling Covent Garden with a menu bursting with seasonal favourites and winter warmers, from cocktails, nibbles to sharing boards.
