Celebrate summer with outdoor cinema screenings at Grand Union

As summer heats up, Grand Union in Alperton, developed by St George, a proud member of the Berkeley Group, is welcoming Londoners to get their popcorn at the ready and visit the new canalside neighbourhood for a series of cinema screenings throughout July.

Whether it’s watching Wimbledon or sitting back and enjoying Disney classics with the family, there’s something for everyone this summer at Grand Union.

Just bring a picnic blanket, and your favourite cinema snacks – or arrive early to secure a deck chair – and escape the city for some fun, free and family-friendly screenings at the picturesque, canalside location of the Grand Union piazza.

The Grand Union Community Hub café looking over the canalside piazza will also be serving cinema snacks and Pimms each weekend of Wimbledon, keeping you stocked up whilst you enjoy your time with friends and family.

Running from Monday 3rd July to Sunday 16th July, there will be daily screenings of Wimbledon – the oldest and most prestigious tennis tournament in the world, alongside early evening screenings of family favourites including Encanto, Moana and Toy Story 4, there’s fun to be had by all the family in this sunny canal-side setting.

Wimbledon screenings will begin daily from midday throughout the week, with the films airing between 5pm – 7pm on Fridays and 1pm – 3pm Saturdays.

The screening schedule is:

Friday 7th July: Encanto
Saturday 8th July: Little Mermaid
Friday 14th July: Toy Story 4
Saturday 15th July: Moana

Stonebridge Park and Alperton stations are a short stroll from Grand Union, offering direct links into central London via the overground & Bakerloo line, and Piccadilly line, respectively.

In addition to the cinema screenings, this summer Grand Union is hosting “YOU. ME. YOU. BYGONE. CONTEMPORARY. HEREAFTER”, a solo art exhibition featuring the exceptional works of local artist JennyBMArtist, which will run from 13th July to 26th August. An inaugural event, the exhibition will not only celebrate the immense talent of local artists but also highlights the rich diversity of the community at Grand Union.
