Celebrate Veganuary with tasty dishes from the traders at Castle Square including fried plantain, Jollof rice and traditional stews
This January, Castle Square is celebrating a host of international food days kicking off with Veganuary, for those who don’t eat meat or are trying to cut back for the month after a heavy festive period.
Taste authentic vegan dishes from around the world including Kaieteur Kitchen Original (Guyanese), Original Caribbean Spice (Caribbean) and Daddy O’s Suya Spot (African). From Kaieteur Kitchens Originals’ renowned Dhal Puri to traditional Caribbean dishes such as fried plantain, Jollof rice and traditional stews in Original Caribbean Spice and Daddy O’s Suya Spot. With a selection of over 25 tasty vegan dishes across the three traders, why not try a new cuisine as well for Veganuary?
Castle Square is also celebrating International Hot and Spicy Food Day on the 16th January, by turning up the heat on some of their much loved dishes! Kaieteur Kitchen Original will be serving up their pepper pot and chicken curry dish along with Daddy-O’s Suya Spot serving their traditional soup pounded yam yam and marinated smoked turkey with spicy sauce.
For those with more of a sweet tooth, you can satisfy your cravings at Ayca Sweet and Nuts during their celebration of International Popcorn Day on the 19th January. Make sure you try the freshly made popcorn and choose from over 50 varieties of nuts.
Along with the tasty celebrations, there are also a host of free activities for the community both online and offline at the Elephant and Castle Community Hub.
